Vehicle inspection report analysis for South African used-car buyers

Barrichello turns a supported inspection PDF into a shorter buying summary, while retaining the original report as the source of evidence.

What the analysis is designed to answer

Are the major systems healthy?

Engine and transmission ratings combine written inspection findings with relevant photographs when those views are available.

Are there signs of accident repairs?

The analysis considers panel alignment, paint evidence, chassis observations and explicit findings about crumple zones or structural repairs.

What repairs were found?

Inspection-supported defects are grouped by urgency with indicative repair allowances in South African rand.

What might the vehicle be worth as it stands?

Value guidance is intended to account for the reported condition and unresolved repair burden rather than assume a fault-free example.

Supported inspection reports

Barrichello currently accepts DEKRA and Inspectify vehicle inspection reports in PDF format. The document must contain enough readable vehicle identity and inspection data to analyse responsibly.

Inspection findings and general model knowledge stay separate

A defect is treated as present only when the uploaded inspection supports it. Preventative-maintenance guidance, common model faults and buyer checklist items are separate educational sections based on the identified model, chassis, engine or transmission when known.

Important: Barrichello is decision support, not a mechanical warranty, roadworthy certificate or verified accident-history database. Confirm material findings with a qualified mechanic or structural specialist before purchasing.

How to use the result when comparing cars

  1. Start with the red, amber and green buying snapshot.
  2. Open the repair section and separate urgent work from cosmetic items.
  3. Compare the repair allowance and unresolved risks with the seller's price.
  4. Use the model-specific checklist during the viewing and service-history review.
  5. Ask a qualified professional to verify any safety-critical or expensive concern.

If you have not inspected the car yet, use the South African used-car inspection checklist to prepare for the viewing.
